CHANDIGARH (PTI): Seven people, including two militants and a police constable, were killed in separate incidents in the strife torn northern Indian state of Punjab since Aug.18,

Nachhattar Singh, a militant of the Babbar Khalsa, was killed in an encounter with security forces near Nabha in Patiala district,

In another encounter, militant Nazar Singh was killed near Rally village in Mansa district.

Gunmen gunned down Constable Balkar Singh and wounded a CRPF Jawan in Sultanwind area of Amritsar district.

Gunmen shot dead one Samam One Balbir Singh was shot dead by gunmen in Tam Taran district. Gunmen gunned down Constable Balkar Singh and wounded a CRPF Jawan in Sultanwind area of Amritsar district.

Gunmen shot dead one Satnam Singh and his mother at their house in Gali Zamula village in Amritsar district ,In the same district, one Person was shot dead in the civil lines area,

CHANDIGARH (PTI): A communist party leader and six militants were killed in the north Indi state of Punjab on Aug.15,

CPI leaders Sewa Singh and Najar Singh were travelling from Jandiala in Ludhiana district to Jhabewal, when gunmen opened fire at their scooter. Sewa Singh later succumbed to his injuries police said.
