AGARTALA: Congress sponsored 24hour statewide bandh paralyzed life in Tripura.
The bandh was marked by stray incidents of violence leaving one person seriously injured, the police said.
A Congress worker, identified as Babul Saha, received multiple stab injuries in clash between workers of the Congress and the CPM over the closure of a few shops and markets at Jogendranagar on the outskirts of the capital town, the police stated. Three persons, all CPM supporters, were arrested in that connection. The injured was admitted to G.B. hospital.
The incident sparked off widespread tension in the area necessitating the deployment of armed policies.
