WASHINGTON: Maninderjit Singh, press secretary of Simranjitt Singh Mann, head of Akali Dal (M) has released a statement saying:
I was surprised to read a captain in W.S.N. that Surinderjit S.Mann “takes government security” while undergoing an eye operation in New Delhi. This news item is totally baseless and malicious. It cast a shadow on Sardar Mann and the singular aspirations of the Sikhs. In today’s Punjab, where the state police carry NATO 6.75 automatic weapons, S.L.R.’s and AK-47s. Sardar Mann moves about Punjab with the security provided by the Sikh Sangatanda few obsolete licensed World War 1 weapons carried by Sikh party workers. The intelligence agencies have made wild threats so that Sardar Mann will not bite such bait. For he says, “this head will bow to Guru Granth Sahib and the Sikh Sangat, and we will cut, but not bow, to the Delhi Darbar.
