AMRITSAR: Six senior Akali Dal-Badal leaders have criticized the Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh for what they called implication of the SGPC president G.S. Tohra in a false case of murder of an Akali Dal Mann leader Baldev Singh Lang in Patiala district.
The Akali leaders; including the vice-president Parkash Singh Majitha the SGPC acting president Major Singh Uboke and the general secretary Manjit Singh Calcutta said in a joint statement that the action of the Chief Minister was the result of frustration and — political defeat at the polls.
The leaders said that Tohra was involved in criminal cases since the new Congress-I government took over in February. Beant Singh — has launched a tirade and hurled — abuses at Tohra at every possible occasion. This will further complicate the already worsening political situation in Punjab warned. These leaders further alleged that Beant Singh was turning his political differences into personal vendettas. For the past several years false cases namely waging war against the state cases under TADA were registered against the SGPC preside the government had to cut a figure every time when after: of illegal detentions the government had to with-draw such J against him. The Akali leaders reminded the Chief Minister his name figured in the FIR in case of murder of four persons Payal.
