GUWAHATI: The 11hour “Assam Bandh” passed off peacefully failing to disturb normal life in the Eastern Indian state May 26 barring a few districts where life was only partially affected.

The bandh which ended Tuesday at 1700 IST (1130 GMTO was called by 15 non-Congress (I) parties demanding judicial inquiry into alleged army atrocities in the state.

Official reports reaching here said that while banks and business establishments remained closed in Some areas government throughout the state function normally. The attendance ever was thin in certain places.

Train services were flights were either cancelled or rescheduled to reach here after the bandh ended
