CARUTHERS CA: Wherever and whenever Sikhs gather to celebrate a birth or mourn a death they also are part of the greater family of Sikhs worldwide who honor the martyrs of the as yet to be nation of Khalistan.

The latest Sikh “family” gathering was Sunday May 24 to celebrate the birth of a baby girl Preeti Gill born March 28. The parents are Harinder S.Gill and Mrs_Jeevanjot Kaur Gill Jyotan. The proud and happy grandparents are: S, Gurdev S.Gill, and Sardamni Kuldip Kaur Gill. The family celebrated Akhand Path to thank God and ask his blessing on the newestarrival to their family. The Recitation of Kirtan was by Bhai Inderjit Singh Tulsi, Ragi Jatha of Caruthers Gurdwara. The folk singing group “Sangeet Group” raised their voices in song to the packed hall, several speakers helped make the event not only a celebration but a time of education and appeal for unification to the Sangat.

Gurjant Singh, secretary of Sikh Student Federation of Fresno urged all present to become baptized Sikhs and to follow the tenets of the faith. Speaking of the future of Khalistan he said “We are working under the command of Sikh Student Federation convener Bhai Daljit Singh who is a primary member of the Panthic Committee. We always cooperate because we believe in their leadership and that of Khalistan Affairs Center run by Dr. Amarjit Singh.” He spoke of “Sikh Nite” at the Dakota Ave (Fresno CA) Gurdwara where an interfaith group learned about the Sikh religion. He said also that the April 29 celebration of Khalistan Declaration Day on the Fresno campus was a milestone for California Sikhs. “Our mission is to establish a Sikh Student Federation at every university. We are working towards this” he said.

Dr. Amarjit Singh of Khalistan Affairs Center said “Today we came together for the celebrations of the baby girl but wherever Sikhs gather they are uniting for Khalistan.” He explained the concept of Khalistan “In Khalistan all will lie with peace and comfort and the values and principals of Sikhism will be maintained. Khalistan itself is a system of welfare for everyone.

We have no belief in the Indian Constitution because no Sikhs have signed on It is a betrayal of Sikhs and we reject the constitution. “Demanding Independence is not a demand it’s a right.”

He explained “Operation Blue Star” and appealed to all present to come to the June 4 protest in Sacramento or New York. He told of the formation of the Panthak Committee and its collective leadership. “Under that leadership the Sikh nation fights for independence which will be achieved even to the sacrifice of the last drop of blood”

  1. Joginder Singh Mann father of Akali Dal (Mann) leader Samanjit S. Mann offered his congratulations and greetings to the faithful members of the Gurdwara who work for the creation of Khalistan.

David S. Dhillon aspiring assemblyman introduced by Pritam Singh of L.A. told the Sangat of his Sikh background and of his political hopes and asked for their help in his election.

Also present were: Gurcharan S. Dhillon president of W.S.O. and Jit S. Baniwal of Babbar Khalsa International.

The Guru langar was served to everyone. The Gill family in honor of the occasion donated $1000 to the Gurdwara and to David S. Dhillon and $300 to W.S.N. Donations were also made to the Ragi Jathas and some other groups.

The Caruthers Gurdwara will host a Bhog of Akhand Path on June 7 in memory of the martyrs of Khalistan. The Punjab Sports Club will be assisting.
