NEW YORK: The Soviet Union was invited a high level Indian delegation led by External Affairs minister Madhavsinh Solanki to Moscow to discuss bilateral relations in the context of far-reaching political changes in the USSR.

The invitation was extended during a cordial meeting Solanki had with Soviet foreign minister Boris D Pankin.

Pankin appreciated Indias support and stand during changes in the Soviet Union and said his country would continue to have good political and economic relations with India.

Foreign Secretary Muchkund Dubey and Indian Ambassador to United Nations C R Gharekhan were also presented during the talks.

Solanki accepted the invitation to visit the Soviet Union and in tum invited Pankin to visit India Pakistan said that he would very much like to visit India but the prevailing situation in the Soviet Union made it difficult at present.
