NEW DELHI India will not sign the Montreal convention pertaining to control of chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) till the: amendments suggested in June 1990 pertaining to
Firm frame, transfer of technology and funds were implemented.
According to the Minister for Environment and Forests, Kamal Nath, India would sign the
Convention only when the amendments suggested by the developing counties would be carried through.
He ruled out Indian participation in the world environment facility since is role was not yet specified.
Nath, who recently visited Paris and London, had also told the British Environment. Minister John Heseltine, that the facility should not interfere with the sovereignty of counties which agree to be party to it.
