AMRITSAR: Sikh Students Federation (Mehta-Chawla) has called for a determined campaign to isolate Akali and other leaders who were without an ideology and were still trying to stage a comeback in the public mind through the so-called ant repression movement.

Addressing a rally of students at the local Khalsa College, Bahi Rajinder Singh Mehta said that the traditional Alkalis had sold off Sikh interests to Delhi for too Jong now to be tolerated by the masses, these leaders were without dignity or self-respect. No unity with these leaders was possible, he said.

The meeting attended by about 350 students, passed a resolution describing the current anti-repression rallies as an Akal stunt. It said that unity was possible only with militants and those who stood by Sant Jarnail Singh Bhind ran vale’s ideology. The meeting felt the need for appointing a jathedar of Akal Takhat.
