PATNA: Matinee idol Shatrughan Sinha affirmed that he would campaign against Mr. K. K. Tiwary Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, in the ensuing election to the Lok Sabha.
Speaking at a public meeting in Buxar, organized by the National Reawakening Campaign committee, spearheaded by Gen S. K. Sinha (retd.), the film star said Mr. Tiwary had to be “defeated” in Buxar or any other constituency he might choose because he (Mr. Tiwary) had become “a blot on the fair name of Bihar”. It was Mr. Sinha’s wish that Mr. Tiwary should “lose his deposit”. The film star also belongs to Bihar.
Presiding over the meeting, Gen Sinha emphasized the imperative of ousting the congress (I) from power. He said because of the wrong policies adopted by the ruling party, the country’s security was facing the challenge of communal and other fissiparous elements. He alleged that the Door darshan and the AIR were denying the people the right to in formation.
