STOCKTON: WSO (International) Governing Council in a press release Tuesday demanded the posting of U.N. Peace Force in the troubled Punjab. “World body must act now to end the ongoing State Terrorism,” said the note. “Punjab is practically under Army occupation and Indian government has admitted that warlike situation obtains there. Press is not allowed in Punjab. Only Government version is released to the outside world.
“Innocent men, women and children are being killed to keep an unpopular government in power, Even popularly elected Sikh leaders are being put behind the bars,” says the Press release.
The Governing Council warned Rajiv Gandhi that his game of exterminating Sikhs is bound to recoil.
