NEW DELHI, OCT. 13 (PTI) — Speaker of Lok Sabha Bal Ram Jakhar ordered an expelled member of the ruling national conference party of the northernmost Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir Abdul Rashid Kabuli to withdraw from the house after he staged a sit in in the well to mourn what he described as “‘death of innocent victims of state terrorism.”
In a dramatic way, Kabuli, who got up during the zero hour to raise the issue of killings of people in Ananinag and other parts of the Kashmir valley, pulled out a black shawl and wore it to register his protest on the issue.
Jakhar, apparently taken aback by the unexpected action, took serious objection to what the member did.
As the speaker chided him, Kabuli rushed to the well of the house and sat in protest, demanding justice.
He was countered by national conference member prop Saifuddin Soz, who said the matter was a state subject and that the state government would tackle the problem.
