NEW DELHI, Oct. 19, Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi today dropped plans for a short aerial survey of flood hit areas of northeastern India and will make an extensive tour later, the Press Trust of India (PTI) news agency reported.
The agency, quoting official sources, said Gandhi would stop briefly at Calcutta airport tomorrow on his way back to New Delhi from a visit to Thailand but had dropped plans to view the stricken districts.
