Suffice it to say this statement of Ghulam Muhammad also shows that all is that well with Kashmir. Kashmiris are dissatisfied with the present state of affairs with their forced “accession” with India, The best thing for Indians is to settle the international issue of Kashmir by negotiations with Pakistan. They have hired the services of one Kashmir Muslim leader after the other in Kashmir but no Kashmiri Muslim leader has been able to deliver the goods. Even towering Personality like that of Sheikh Abdullah failed to do so. Despite his being Chief Minister there was a great hurtle in Kashmir in favor of the right of self-domination, in 1975.
Dr. Farooq, and now Gulshah also have failed. Anybody else who may be brought into limelight would also fail. The only way out is a settlement of the issue on just amicable lines. The present present Line Control is no solution. The principle which was the basis of vivisection of the subcontinent has to be observed in Kashmir also.
