Sarbat Khalsa Samelan (International) was called upon the republic   of Khalistan, 12 Talbot Rd. London on the Easter weekend, March 28, 29 & 30, 1986, at Shepard Bush Gurdwara Sahi Central London under the president ship of D. Jagjit  Singh Chohan, Delegates from Kenya, Malaysia, Iraq, Canada, US.A. England & Europe attended this conference with great enthusiasm and zeal. Canada was represented from East, West and Central parts of its vast land.

Delegates heard progress report, Re; Equator project and various proposals were made to make similar of efforts in other parts of the world also each delegate was given a full chance to give his views freely and vehemently. All those proposals were for the delegates only to consider and weigh, so that they could make up their views for the workshops.

First workshop was held on March 28 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. which actually continued till 11 p.m. that night because the delegates were full of zeal and vigor.

Second day delegate session started on March 29, 1986 again at 10 p.m. at the Gurdwara Diwar Hall. Delegates from U.K. were given time to share their views and feelings with other international delegates.

This continued till 1 p.m., and after lunch all the Delegates were divided into three groups and were sent to their respective rooms for group discussions on various subjects. These groups continued their close-door discussion for about two and a half hours. All their views there summarized on bit sheets and based on those views, ‘working resolutions were drafted for the delegate’s approval.

A closed door delegates only meetings was pre-arranged at a hotel hall at 8 p.m. In that meeting draft resolution were presented, discussed and passed unanimously the resolutions briefly are:

  1. Five members council was kept intact and was authorized to appoint council of ministers internationally, selecting their form pro Khalistan groups.

President and Prime Ministers offices were separated with separate duties for the purpose of better functioning.

  1. One account to be opened and finances allocated according to the president & P.M Budget,
  2. Intellectuals were called upon to join and work for the achievement of Khalistan,
  3. Council was briefed regarding steps for developing finances, peace harmony and unity in the Sikh Community as a whole. Once the final day, March 30th 1986 an open session was held all day in the Gurdwara Diwan Hall. Congregation was joined by a delegate from Afghanistan Mujahidin.

Mujahadin expressed their support for the Sikh cause and gave a brief history of the atrocities being committed by Russia Army against Afghan people. They warned the Sikhs that unless they come forward and stand for their rights, they are sure to once face the looting, raping, lynching and other brutalities from the Indian Government.

A representative of Deccan Society (from Southern India) also expressed his views as to how Indian government has humiliated them  various agencies and how they are looking up to their Sikh brothers to not only get their rights and Raj also be their light house to light up their path too.

There were many more associations represented by their respective leaders they also pledge their full support for the Sikh cause, but wanted to remain anonymous for the time being.

Finally, the conference ended at a very high pitch yet emotional and logical speech by the president Dr. Jag it Singh Chohan, He reminded the Sikh Nation of their past and urged their to learn from past mistakes and take right foot forward. Let the past go and open up the eyes and ears to recognize the true people who could guide their to their Birth right of “Raj Karega Khalsa”. Thus the conference ended at 5 p.m. Sunday March 30th, 1986.
