LUDHIANA‘: The Khalistan Commando Force led by Baba Wassan Singh Zaffarwal strongly condemned the burning of the “beeds” of Gum Granth Sahib at Jalandhar and the incidents of violence in Delhi.

Ina statement issued here, Baba Wassan Singh, Bhai J.S, Santuwal and Bhai S.S. Uppal assailed the statement of the Punjab Governor holding Pakistani agents responsible for the incidents.

The statement alleged that these actions had been initiated by antiSikh forces who were involved in the 1984 November riots in Delhi.

The statement made it clear that the militants were not antiHindu but antiSikh communal Hindus and no retaliation would be made against the Hindus.

Baba Wassan Singh, in another statement, urged all militant organisations to desist from taking any action against Ajit, a Punjabi daily brought out from Jalandhar as it would harm the Sikh struggle. Col H.S. Kahlon, President of the Sant Sipahi Front in a statement also condemned the incidents at Jalandhar and Delhi and sought action against the guilty.

Meanwhile, heads of all religious places, including grant his and pujaris, met the Deputy Commissioner here and strongly condemned acts of sacrilege in Jalandhar. They urged the government to apprehend the culpris.

Shiv Sena secretary Parminder Mehta appealed to the people of both communities to maintain communal harmony. He said there was a conspiracy behind the incidents at Jalandhar. The staff and students of Gujranwala Khalsa College here also demanded action against the culprits.

The Indian Minorities and Dalit Front condemned the acts of sacrilege and violence in Jalandhar and Delhi.

The Young Lawyers Forum Punjab also condemned the incidents in Jalandhar.

 JALANDHAR: The Punjab unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad will organise “asthi Kalash yatras” through the state to mobilise public opinion in favour of “kar seva” at Ayodhya.

He said the Ram Janmabhoomi Babri Masjid issue was not a property dispute to be decided by court.
