CHICAGO: The Sikh American community of Chicago held their annual family picnic on Saturday August 25 at Deer Grove Forest preserve in Palatine, Illinois.
Over 400 Sikh men, women and children participated in this day of onsite barbecue and fun filled sports activities,
The event was sponsored by Sikh Religious Society of Chicago and the Organizing committee was headed by social secretary Rajinder Singh Mago. The activities included children’s races, ladies spoon and marble race, couples three legged race, egg throw, balloon hop, musical chairs race, tug of war and shot put. The volleyball tournament was won by Khalsa sportsmen’s club team.
The prizes were distributed by veteran Subedar Kartar Singh Dhaliwal assisted by the S.R.S president Surjit Singh Grewal.
