LUDHIANA: The PHRO has deplored the Govt decision not to restore democracy in Punjab. The PHRO president Sukhdev Singh Gensecy D.S. Gill in a joint statement said the extension of President’s rule had proved as false Janata Dal’s talk of “rule of law”, “open society,” “healing touch,” democracy and political input.
It is well known that the people of Punjab had rejected in the recent Lok Sabha election the CBI, CPM the BJP and Janata Dal as well as the Congress I. These parties are now set to immorally rule Punjab through the back door.
The so called Punjab initiative and the all-party consensus was nothing but vindication of Nehru dynasty’s fascist approach.
The PHRO activists said the logic behind Delhi’s Punjab policy would eventually lead to several states being deprived of democracy. They said the postponement may turn out to be a blessing in disguise as it may give the people enough time to the people to compel their leaders.
