CHANDIGARH: The Deputy Inspector General of Police GIS Bhullar has said that the number of people killed in 1989 was 541 while in 1988 was 1140. The number of militants killed was 1935 as against 227 killed in 1988.
Bhullar said as against 65 policemen killed in 1988, 134 were killed in 89.
The number of cases under Terrorist Act shot up from 639 to 1873 in 89.
