KATHMANDU, Renter; Two Nepalese Sherpas were killed on Mount Everest after they and a French mountaineer reached the Summit, Nepal’s tourism ministry said on Friday,
French Mountain guide Serge Koenig conquered the 8,848 meter (29,028 feet) peak on Thursday and descended alone, the Ministry said.
Pasang Temba, 30, and fellow Sherpa Lhakpa Sona, 29, began their descent but never reached shelter. Their bodies were discovered on Friday by a Franco Spanish expedition heading for the summit.
Koenig, a 30 year old Mountain guide from Chamonix is the sixth Frenchman to reach the summit of the world’s biggest mountain since September 26.
