BOSTON, Ma.: Dr. Manohar Singh Grewal, President WS.O. (U.S.A.) said in a press Release that the World Sikh Organ Wation believes that the killings of no cent Hindus during recent bus attacks in Punjab and Haryana are the handiwork of the Indian government. Their purpose is to:
- Discredit Sikhs struggling for their freedom in Punjab and portray them as “terrorists”.
- Justify, in the eyes of the world, an army occupation and the suspension of all civil liberties in
Punjab.
- Cover up the ruling party’s defeat in Haryana and to destabilize the majority non Congress government there.
- Stir up public emotion against .the Sikhs and produce an anti-Sikh climate in India and abroad.
“The World Sikh Organization strongly condemns this false propaganda, spread by the Indian government through their government controlled media, against the Sikhs”, he said.
“This has already resulted in a Hindu mob attack on a Sikh religious shrine in Delhi. Also the killing of innocent Sikhs and the burning of their properties in Haryana, Delhi, and other areas in India,” Mr. Singh added.
He appealed to the free press of the free world to be more objective in reporting the Sikh problem in Punjab rather than depending on the government controlled Indian press. Please stop another Sikh genocide by bringing the truth to the world.
