Vikram Singh Khalsa was born in Hounslow, England in 1945. When he was a teenager he became interested in music and after leaving school, became a musician playing in many different bands. In 1966 he was asked to join the world famous band “The Animals” and went to the top of the charts in most countries of the world,

In 1969 tiring of his material way of life, he sought to find a spiritual path. His seeking brought him to HarbhajanSingh Khalsa Yogi who inspired him to become a Sikh.

After taking Amrit in 1971 he began the study of Gurbani Kirtan with the well-known London ragi Giani Amolak Singh. He also had the opportunity to be inspired by many of the great ragis such as Bhai Avtar Singh, Gurcharan Singh, Bhai Dharam Singh Zakhmi, Bhai Chatur Singh etc.

In 1979 he visited India and had the privilege to perform kirtan at the Holy Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar on the Gurpurb of the birthday of Guru Ram Das Sahib, the only nonIndian ever for do so, In.1980 he had the same privilege.

Since 1983 he has been very involved in dharmic parchar and has travelled to ‘Vancouver, Toronto, Phoenix, San Francisco, England, Australia, New Zealand and other places for kirtan and parchar. His main interest, however, is in Sikh Youth and he has participated in Youth Camps and Seminars on three different continents.

Vikram Singh now lives in San Diego, California where he has his own Plumbing Company and is very busy in the San Diego construction industry. He is president of Sikh Dharam of San! Diego and Serves on the sevadar committee of the Sikh Society of San Diego.

He is married to Vikram Kaur Khalsa and has two daughters, Pritam Kaur and Siri Lakshmi Kaur.
