Dear Editor:
Recently, I sent a letter to the Editor responding to Mr. Mulk Raj Anand’s letter published in the Tribune. Therein, I had stated that there is a campaign of vilification started by Delhi’s communal Hindus and in this they have recruited in the past men like Khushwant Singh, Kuldip Nayyar, Arun Shoutie, Gopal Singh Dardi, etc. I also mentioned that this list is endless with many more to follow. Major Balbir Singh’s recent letter is a typical example of what I had stated. Do you think people (Hindus and non-Hindus alike) do not understand these sinister conspiracies inspired by vested interests. As a popular saying goes “You can fool some people for some time, some people for all the time, but not all the people for all the time”. The entire Sikh nation is awake and fully aware of all these plans to fool them with the help of such sycophants as Major Balbir Singh and there are quite a few around.
Every now and then, we in North America meet similar characters. Perhaps you do not know the kind of reception which they get here. Major General Rajinder Singh Sparrow can fully explain to you the way he was greeted in New York city.
My suggestion to The Tribune Editor is, please refrain from giving undue and undeserving publicity to letters from people like Major Balbir Singh. They do not represent anybody. They are simply dancing to the tune of the Delhi walas. People fully understand the modus operandi of such so called intellectuals, journalists, public servants, the silent majority and the like. Their actions do not lead to the understanding of Punjab problem.
