CASTRO VALLEY, Ca. Muslims from the Bay area celebrated the birth anniversary of QuaidiAzam Mohammad Ali Jinnah at Community Center Castro Valley. 150 Muslims attended. Sikhs from the Bay area were represented by S. Balbir Singh Ragi, Dr. Ajitpal Singh Sandhu, S. Jarnail Singh and S. Harbhajan Singh Dosanjh.
- Balbir Singh Ragi, Member National Council of World Sikh Organization congratulated the audience for having a leader with a foresight back in forties who could visualize the shape of things to come and demanded freedom for Muslims in India. Sikhs were unfortunate in having leaders who believed Hindu leaders and opted to join India.
He requested the Muslims to support the Sikhs in their struggle for freedom. “Indian government has launched a powerful campaign in this country against the supply of AWACS to Pakistan. The numbers play a dominant part. Jointly, we can make a powerful impact on the American people and the American government and counter the Indian government’s propaganda against the Sikhs and the supply of AWACS”, he said.
Dr. Ajitpal S. Sandhu also spoke on the occasion and extended felicitations to American Muslims on the birth anniversary of the Father of Pakistan Nation.
