Amritsar — The United Akali Dal has appointed convenors in 17 districts of the Punjab state to consolidate different Akali Dal factions under one umbrella.
The party also announced appointment of vice convenors and general secretary at district level streamlining the organizational set up.
The appointments came after Baba Joginder Singh acting convenor of the United Akal Dal had consultations running for two days with his advisers and committee members.
Baba Joginder Singh father of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwal on May 1 dissolved the two Akali factions led by Sant Harchand Singh Longowal and Jathedar Jagdev Singh Talwandi and formed the United Akali Dal.
