Srinagar, India —Kashmir police have broken a Moslem and Sikh network with ties to Pakistan, the Kashmir state police chief MLM. Khajuri said Monday.
Khajuri said the network had been working to split the states of Kashmir and Punjab from India. He linked three Pakistani agencies to the network, including the Field Intelligence Unit, the Special Service Group and the National Geographical Service, which he called an intelligence organization.
However, Khajuri did not offer any proof of Pakistani involvement in the separatist movements in Kashmir and Punjab.
Khajuri said the network and Pakistan’s involvement were described by suspected Sikh militant Sardar Autar Singh, who was arrested while attempting to cross into Pakistan last September.
The Kashmir police chief’s charges came as Pakistan Foreign Minister Sahabzada Yaqub Khan arrived in New Delhi for talks aimed at improving Indo Pakistani relations.
