On behalf of the people and the Government of Ontario, it is my pleasure to convey my warmest congratulations to the members of Sri Guru Singh Sabha Canada on the occasion of your celebration of Baisakhi.
Your commemoration of Baisakhi not only honors your history and your religious and cultural heritage but pays tribute to your reverend Guru Gobind Singh and the legacy he bequeathed as the founder of the Sikh community.
In addition, your celebration serves to strengthen spiritual beliefs of your people and to perpetuate your heritage for this and succeeding generations.
As you join with Sikhs around the world in marking this day of great significance, may I thank you for your contribution to the development of Ontario as well as wish you a memorable celebration and a happy and prosperous New Year.
