I am extremely pleased to have this opportunity to extend greetings to the members of Punjabi Sahit Sabha of Ontario on the important occasion of Baisakhi, the birthday of the Sikh nation.

Birthdays are always special occasions but I am confident that the birth of Khalsa which, I understand, you are celebrating on Saturday, April 13th, 1985, will be a time to pause for a moment to reflect upon the past, the present and the future, and, in so doing, not only refresh our thoughts and rise above environmental stresses and attractions but, also, to find a greater sense of inner space. The resulting fellowship and goodwill will certainly contribute greatly to the betterment of our world.

Therefore, on behalf of the people of the city of St. Catherines, it is with considerable pleasure that I join my colleagues on council in extending our very best wishes and congratulations for a particularly meaningful Baisakhi in 1985.
