JAMMU: The Bharatiya Janata Party ‘would fight the next general election on issues of national security and Kashmir.
Elaborating the party’s poll plank for next elections, 1.K. Advani, president said that the mishandling of Kashmir affairs by the successive Congress governments had generated a feeling amongst the people Mat only a BJF government at the Center could solve the problem.
He said the present Congress government at the Center, like the previous Congress regimes, had no policy on Kashmir. Having a dig at the Prime Minister Advani said, “On one hand, Narsimha Rao talks of liberating Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) on the other, he talks of giving Kashmiris something Short of “azadi and is even willing to hold talks with looters rapists and militants.”
On question of giving pre1953 Status to J and K, Advani said it would be suicidal for the country.
“The Congress has been going on and on from one blunder to another, he added.
