SHIMLA: The Bharatiya Janata Party, if it comes to power at the Center, would order a CBI inquiry against the Himachal Pradesh government for its “omissions and commissions,” including violation of the Land Ceiling Act. “The president of the state unit of the BJP, ‘Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal. and the general secretary, after their return from tribal ‘areas, said the transfer of land by the Chief Minister to the son of former Union Minister Arjun Singh in violation of the Land Ceiling Act and the alleged transfer of Jand surrendered earlier under the Act ‘was a serious mater, which should be probed by the CBI.

‘The BJP leaders said a CBI inquiry into the laying of optical fiber cable, diversion of funds earmarked for the tribal areas and ignoring the development of these areas by Union Communication Minister Sukh Ram were the major poll planks of the BJP.
