Bhai Jasbir Singh sent us a message through (Bhai Tejwant Singh) Narangwal regarding his talks with the Central Government on the eve of his release. We felt extremely sorry for Bhai Jasbir Singh. We sensed from Bhai Narangwal’s talk that the entire drama was aimed at no more than release of Bhai Jasbir Singh. We made our position clear to Bhai Narangwal. We also wrote a letter to Bhai Jasbir Singh which we sent through Bhai Narangwal.

It was node clear to Bhai lasbir Singh that the Singhs of the Panthic Committee and the “Council of Khalistan” stood as rock. by the gurrnatas of Sarbat Khalsa arid the prayer made at the feet of Sri Guru Ram Dass.

Tire Council spokesman further stated that he had very strongly objected to a Press statement issued “on behalf of Raba Thakur Singh” by Rhai Rajdev Singh Barnala, advocate. This dangerous statement was never authored by Baba Thakur Singh. I his was designed by Bhai Jasbir Singh and his associates to drmigrade the Darndarni Taksal in the eyes of Sikh Tenth.

(The controversial statement purported to applaud the et forts for resolution of the Punjab problem and the et forts of Sushi’ Muni to seek the release of Mai Jasbir Singh and others. The statement was issued at Delhi. Mai Rajdev Singh, counsel of Rhai Jasbir Singh, claimed the statement to have been issued on behalf of Danidarm Taksal. Baba Thakur Singh. denied it soon after it appeared in the Press).

The Council spokesman further stated through Rhai Narangwal that while the outsiders appreciated the chi faculties faced by Bhai Jasbir Singh and others in jailir view of their “delicate c constitution”, the insiders should not loose sight of the fact that Singhs outside were being chased by legions of security forces and that they had to spend nights in the Wheat fields. But no one is resentful because all this is happening according to the will of God. If the Guru himself could bear the terrible ordeals of life in the jungles of Machhiwara, his offspring could not dream better.

The Council spokesman appealed to Bhai Jasbir Singh also to remember that the sixth Guru had come out of jail only after he had ensured that everyone else was freed. Otherwise, he said, Bhai Jasbir Singh’s attitude amounted to tarnishing the image of Damdami Taksal.

Instead of heeding the above mentioned advice, filial Jasbir Singh and others sent their women folk to Chowk Mehta to wail and cry in favour of the release. They sought to put pressure on Baba Thakur Singh to seek the release of Singh Sahibs. Baba Thakur Singh did not budge.

Bhai Jasbir Singh was also clearly told riot to repeat the kind of drama Prof. Darshsal Singh had played with the militants in connivance with the Centre and warned Bhai Jasbir Singh that his fate would be no different from the one met by the processor. Despite this timely warning the drama was repeated and it was named “puran Azadi” (full freedom).

When representatives of the Panthic Committee and the Council met Bhai Jasbir Singh for the first time, he was put to shame for ‘his sham stand.

But even then efforts were directed to wean [Thai Gurjit Singh and have other members of the Panthic Committee and Council eliminated. It was Mai Gurjit Singh who had initiated the slogon for Khalistan” in the holy place but now praises were being showered CM the “Indian Constitution”.
