CHANDIGAREH: Four persons including a freedom fighter and a newspaper agent were killed while security forces arrested six Sikhs in Punjab. The gunmen stuck at a newspaper agency office in the old bus stand at Tapa village, killing its owner Kalu Ram and injuring one Ashok Kumar. Security forces shot dead a Sikh in an alleged encounter at the Hayat village in Gurdaspur district. He was not identified. The Ludhiana District police arrested three people and claimed to have recovered a revolver and two pistols from them.

The arrested were identified as Kaka Singh, Satnam Singh and Kesri Ram.
