SACRAMENTO: The following telegram was sent by Gurcharan Singh DhuJon to the acting president of Pakistan.
“WSO (USA) is shocked at the tragic death of President Mohammad ZiaulHaq in the ill-fated air explosion. President Zia had ably steered Pakistan through many a trial and his loss will be deeply felt both within and without the boundaries of Pakistan. He was increasingly recognized as a friend and supporter of people fighting for their independence.
On behalf of WSO and my own behalf, I share your grief and the tragic joss and pray to God to give strength to your countrymen to bear this tragedy and peace to the departed soul.””
