MACABRE HORRORS: This Sikh youth S Avtar Singh like uncounted thousands before him was tortured to death in police custody. Every joint has been broken. Steam irons and hot iron rods have been used on the soles of the feet.
Before being martyred S Avtar Singh was tortured in an inhuman way.
Avtar Singh belonging to village Shatranain the district Patiala was martyred after being inhumanly tortured, Punjab Human Rights Organization investigated the whole case. Punjabis in general and Sikhs in particular shall realize that their personal egoistic conflict is responsible for hundreds of youths being killed in torture centers and fake encounters where the ‘well known people like Avtar Singh is suffering like that what will be the fate of common Sikhs.
Avtar Singh was contesting state assembly elections from Lehragaga constituency. According to police record Avtar Singh ‘was killed in an encounter, to search out the truth PHRO team company of Maj. Gen. Narinder Singh (Retd.), Vice- Chairman Dr. Sukhjit Kaur.
The police version is that police party led by Gumam Singh (Inspector) arrested Aviar Singh. While being interrogated in the police jeep he disclosed that some militants are holding a meeting someday. Jeep was passing over Bhakra Canal Police party right away decided to go to the place of meeting as they were on their way, an encounter ensued in which S Avtar Singh ‘was found dead when police party turned back to see him.
Avtar is said to be the brother of a well Known militant.
