CHANDIGARH INDIA, NOV 5, Reuter: Gunmen shot dead another seven people in the north Indian state of Punjab on Saturday police said.

Gunmen, who killed some 50 people in shootings and bomb blasts on Friday, attacked again in the districts of Amritsar, Gurdaspur and Bhatinda, police said. They gave no details.

The industrial town of Batala was put under curfew after 27 people were killed in bomb attacks on Friday. The same day, 16 farm laborers were gunned down in a Ludhiana district village and other eight people were shot dead elsewhere in the state.

The deaths pushed the Punjab toll to nearly 2,300 this year.
