Dhaka: India’s irrigation secretary M.A. Chittale arrived Saturday to attend the Sixth Indo-Bangla talks on the sharing of water of ‘common rivers. “We are looking forward fruitful discussion with Bangladeshi officials,” said Chittale, who is leading a five- ‘member delegation. “Both sides are well set to narrow their differences and we hopes commissioner Official sources here said that Dhaka was likely to suggest the revival of the 1977 agreement be- tween the two countries on river water sharing. India and ‘Bangladesh has had no accord on the water issue since the memorandum of understanding expired in 1988.
