NEW DELHI: Janata Dal leader V.P.Singh has resigned as the leader of the parliamentary party. He sent his resignation to Lok Sabha Speaker Shivraj Patil on May 4, When asked about the reasons for designation, Singh said it was on account of his ill health, “Tam not able to attend Parliament regularly. Why should I occupy the position of the JDPP leader?” he asked.

The Janata Dal leader said that the deputy leader would officiate.
