BANGALORE: The Janata Dal president V.P. Singh stated that he had never used any derogatory words about Jayapakash Narayan and that the whole propaganda against him on this issue was a “tie”.
In a statement issued here on Friday Singh said, “Some people have maliciously started a smear
campaign alleging that I use derogatory words against Jayaprakashyhi. I was associated with Jayaprakashji in the bhoodan movement and also in the founding of the lal Bahadu. Shasti Sewa Niketan launched by Smt Lalita Shastri for which I have given a portion of my house in Manda. I have never I repeat never, used derogatory words against jayaprakasji. The authencity of the letter on the strength of which such allegations are being made is highly doubtful.
