NEW DELHI (PTI): Producers of Newsmagazine, “Newstrack” last week charged state-owned television, Doordarshan of censoring remarks about a company in which a family member of Prime Minister is allegedly involved, in its Story on Parliament Furor over Parliamentary panel report on multi-million security scam.

In a statement here, the producers of the program said questions and answers regarding the controversial company, Gold star, were deleted by the Doordarshan.

Among other things, the Join “Parliamentary Committee U.P.C had recommended a joint probe by various government agencies into the earnings of Gold star.

(There had been allegations that a member of Prime Minister P.V.Narasimha Raos family was a Director of the Company.)

In the program, Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs V. C. Shukla was asked “hasn’t Gold star also been mentioned?” The minister answered “Now you stop that you don’t go on about Gold star,” the statement said, adding that this portion was deleted.

Another portion, a remark by Opposition member of the JPC Yash wants Sinha, “take the BSH steered a joint investigation by various agencies of the government including the CBI. And after seven months…the action taken report talks of no action taken.”
