JALLANDHAR: A Southall London Sikh Parkash Singh in a statement alleged that two Delhi police officials intercepted his taxi and took away cash and certain valuables they brought from the U.K. as presents to their relations when they came to India after eight years. One of the police officials Parkash Singh said was the same as had inspected his bags at the Indira Gandhi International airport. The police official’s shouted that they would throw the entire family behind bars and that there would be no provision of bail for them if they tried to raise a hue and cry. After parting with cash and clothes as well as four bottles of whiskey the Sikh family moved towards Punjab through Haryana they were intercepted again this time by the Haryana police which compelled them to surrender more goods to them. Parkash Singh later returned to the U.K. In another statement he thanked Almighty for making it possible for the family to return to the country of their adoption “unharmed”.
