WASHINGTON: The United States is trying to facilitate a dialogue between India and Pakistan on Kashmir in accordance with the Shimla accords, White House deputy press secretary for foreign relations Roman Popadiuk has said. Popadiuk told correspondents at a briefing Wednesday at the United States information agency’s foreign press center that the White House endorsed the Indian policy of no deals and no dialogue with terrorists.

Popadiuk said, “The Kashmir situation is obviously one that is very important to both sides, Pakistan and India.”
