NEW YORK: The Punjabi Literary and Cultural Society, New York, released two books at a special function held in the Masonic Temple, Flushing. A collection of Punjabi poems, “Siahi Da Chanan” by the Pakistani Poet Akhtar Hussain and another composition by Randhir Singh were formally released. Prof. Gurcharan Singh of New York recited a highly emotive poem highlighting the ongoing oppression in Punjab. The function was attended by a large number of Punjabis belonging to both India and Pakistan. Dr. Gurinder Singh Grewal and Gurcharan ~ Singh Dhillon who happened to be in New York in connection with the hearing of Sukhminder Singh Sandhu, and Ranjit Singh Gill, also participated in the function.
