CHANDIGARH: Two police officials were shot dead and six were seriously injured when three unidentified gunmen opened fire on a police party at a check post of Surajpur police station in Udaipur (Rajasthan) on the early morning of April 16 Deputy Home Secretary of Rajasthan said that the gunmen escaped in a car. The car was later found near the airport by the police who chased them A Revolver was recovered from the vehicle The three gunmen opened fire on the police party and the sub-inspector Rajindra Singh on the spot while D.S.P. Roshan Lal Mathur succumbed to his injured in the hospital. Mr. Kailash Behari Bagpai S.D.M. and Suresh Pande circle officer were also injured. The Rajasthan police suspect the hand of Sikh Freedom Fighters in this killing.
