Chandigarh: Mr. Gurcharn Singh Tohre has called for general amnesty in Punjab to speed up the process of normalization in the state. Mr. Guscharn Singh was addressed the joint meeting of the Chandigarh and Ropar youth wing of Akali Dal at Chandigarh on Dec. 8. The meeting adopted a resolution of demanding immediate release of all Sikh Youth detained in jails within and outside Punjab. By another resolution the meeting placed on Record its appreciation of efforts made by Bamala Govt to rehabilitate the November riot victims and unemployed Sikh youth released from jail and for resisting change in terms of reference to the Mathew Commission. Mr. Tohra appealed to the people of state to strengthen the hands of Akali Dal to usher in era of peace and prosperity in Punjab.
