DHARAMSALA: the Tibetan Government in Exile is lobbying with UN member countries for supporting its resolution against the violation of human rights in Tibet by China. ‘The draft resolution of human rights violations in Tibet will be moved in the S2nd session of the United Nations which begins on March 18.

The human rights officer of the Tibet bureau on UN affairs at Geneva, Mr. Nawang C. Drakmarg Yapon, stated that the Tibetan issue could formally be included in the next car’s agenda of the UN, only if the resolution was passed this time.

Mr. Drakmarg Yapon said that it was only by these means that Tibetans could seek information from China on the situation in Tibet He, however, felt that a breakthrough on the Tibet issue was possible only if there was “political will” on the part of the UN.
