LAHORE: The touring Indian cricketers here have threatened to boycott the New Zealand tour if payment on the gradation basis is not made to them.

Mohinder Amarnath, a spokesman of the Association of Indian Cricketers(AIC), said last evening that a written proposal to this effect was being sent to the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Mr BN. Dutt.

We allowed players to undertake the tour without accepting any payment and we also did not insist on the gradation of payment because time was short”, Mohinder said, “But now will not compromise ‘on matters of principles”.

‘According to Mohinder, the AIC was also writing to the Board that they would not allow Mr Raj Singh Dungar pur to represent the Board when the discussion on the players demand was held. “We want anybody except Raj Singh”.

Mohinder said they wanted a decision before the special body of the Board Metat Hyderabad on December 16.

He told reporters that the BCCI special general body meeting would take place on December 16 at Hyderabad and “we will anywhere in India.”

Amarnath categorically stated that the as accept any individual as representative to the BCCT regarding this matter.

“We would like to sit across the table with board members to sort this out,” he said.

The Players Association is seeking better fees and facilities from the cricket authorities and have already submitted its charter of demands in writing to the BCCI.

Sunil Gavaskar, who was here till the third day of the current India-Pakistan Test, had discussed the matter with the players before a consensus was reached.

The BCCI had already refused to accept the demands and when asked if it did the same thing again, Amarnath said.

“We will cross the bridge when we reach it. We will see then.”

“But I can tell you, no player will play free or for low fees,” he added.
