NEW DELHI: The strike by junior telecom officers all over the country has been called off. This follows discussions between the communication minister, Janeshwar Mishra and joint action committee of the junior telecom officers association here on the sixth day of the agitation, according to an official release.

The release said the joint action committee had appealed to their members to restore normalcy immediately considering overall national interest.

Telecom services, including telephone teleprinter, telex and fax services, have been virtually paralyzed throughout the country for the last six days as a result of the agitation.
