BATALAS; A School teacher of Udhanwal narrated this tale last week at an Officially organized public function chaired: “by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Gurdaspur H.S .Chathal.
The teacher said certain gunmen forcibly took away his motor cycle which finally reached the Dhariwal Police station, He went to collect vehicle there but instead of retiming to him his motor cycle the police gave him a an inhuman treat me which he did not elaborate. The p lice asked him for R.s 50,000. Otherwise, the police threatened, would be sent to jail
The teacher said he refused to give any money to the police. Instead, he made a complaint to higher author- ties that the Dhariwal police: S.H.OMakhan Singh had demanded money from him, Consequently, he said, the police picked up his two sons while they were returning from their college and the Dhariwal S.H.O. shot them dead and describe the young men as militants.
The civil officers present at the function affirmed they received the complaint earlier also but petting to punish the guilty S.H.O. – The Batala S.S.P. Who was also present dismissed the complaint saying that, the teacher must have some enmity with the police.
