GUWAHATI (PTI): A top executive of India’s Tata Tea Company, who was kidnapped by the secessionist Ultras in the northeastern Assam state last year had been released last week, family sources Said. Mr.Bolin Bordoloi, son of Assam’s first chief minister Gopinath Bordoloi, was kidnapped for a ransom of 15 crore US dollars from near his residence by the ULFA extremists in April last year. He was subsequently handed over to Boro extremists during his captivity. Mr.Bordoloi is frail and hearty, his family sources said. He is taking rest and not immediately available for comments, they added. Mr.Bordoloi reached home around 0200 hrs. He was believed to be kept somewhere in Bhutan along the Indo Bhutanese border.
