COLOMBO, Oct 16, Reuter: Five Indian soldiers were killed when their vehicle hit a mine planted by Tamil guerrillas in Eastern Sri Lanka on Saturday, police said on Sunday.

An official said one soldier was injured in the blast, at Mandur in Batticaloa district.

Indian troops, in Sri Lanka to enforce an accord to end a Tamil Separatist campaign, raided and destroyed a Tamil Rebel camp in the same district on Saturday, the official said.

He had no information on casualties.
